The tourism that we have done so far has not been ecotourism really. We had a tour of the city of San Jose a couple of times, but I guess that going to the coffee plantations was a type of ecotourism. I would say that Del Cafe... Tal was much more of an ecotourism farm compared to Cafe Britt which was much more commercial.
This was a documentation of my month long trip to Costa Rica with Miami U. It is now a way to update people in my life for my trip to hopefully nearly all the countries in central america in 2012.

Eco-Tourism
We are going to Monteverde this weekend and to the beach at Manuel Antonio on tuesday and wednesday. Ecotourism is a type of tourism that focuses specifically on ecological things and nature, and most of the tourism in Costa Rica is ecotourism. Ecotourism also focuses on the learning aspect of a vacation, where many times people volunteer or learn how to help the environment and the planet. Ecotourism also attempts to not harm the environment as much as normal tourism does, so sometimes more energy efficient buses are used and things of that nature. Ecotourism and responsible and sustainable development started making strides in the 1980's, and has since seen lots of growth especially with the recent concerns about global climate change and stuff like that.
